An Overview of Teachers and Slow Learners Challenges in a Language Classroom in Some Secondary Schools in Sokoto State

The main thrust of this paper is to examine the methods employed by language teachers in coping with slow learners in the classroom. The cognitive skills development, causes of delay in development and speech and language skills development were also highlighted. Challenges confronted by language teachers in dealing with slow learners in the classroom were also discussed. Recommendations were offered for further improvement. It was however recommended that the teacher should as much as possible avoid placing slow learners in frustrating situations.
